Why should we work towards a Great Lakes Commons and how ?
In December, I sent my Great Lakes Commons notes to Environment Minister McKenna along with a letter requesting that she refuse to permit construction of the DGR - deep geological repository for low and intermediate level radioactive waste proposed by OPG for the shore of Lake Huron at Bruce Power nuclear station near Kincardine, Ontario.

Lake Huron is a sacred and beautiful water, too precious to be forever destroyed by radionuclides leaking from a waste site which will eventually be abandoned by the industry and left for future generations to deal with. People need to be made aware of this DGR, and loudly protest to prevent it from happening.
